Inkwell is an informational site for new writers and artists (including illustrators, web comic creators and graphic artists). We all have to start somewhere, and we hope you'll begin your journey here. We want to give you the resources and support you need to be successful.
If you have questions on publishing, we strive to provide answers here, with links.
This is also a community for established writers and artists, a place for them to promote their work and help others. We hope that they, too, will continue to learn and grow their skills.
Inkwell belongs to you and every other member. Its success depends on each of us participating, spreading the word and growing the site through engaging groups and interactive features. Websites for published authors are becoming more and more important, not just for your readers but for the future of your career. I can't tell you how many times I go to an author's website to check out not just the author's books and career but for quotes and reviews. Which is why it's important to keep your site updated as much as possible

Bookends gives advice on what to do when you need to sever the agent/writer relationship

Bookends, LLC agent Jessica Faust explains what an "unsolicted manuscript" is:
"If the publisher has submission guidelines on their website, but they say "no unsolicited manuscripts," then they will expect a query first. If they have no guidelines for submissions it's likely they aren't accepting unsolicited submissions of any kind, and that includes queries."

Is it such a great idea to put new fiction on the web for all to see? What happens if you want to sell stories in a collection, for example? Isn't this a thorny issue? What do you think?
